Diljit Dosanjh is currently in the middle of a controversy for working with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his movie ‘Sardaar Ji 3’. The backlash comes amid the tensions between India and Pakistan post the Pahalgam attack. Even though the makers clarified that they shot Sardaar Ji 3 with Hania before the Pahalgam attack, both Diljit and the filmmakers have been receiving backlash.
Now, the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has written a strongly worded letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling for immediate and stringent action against the singer-actor.
Key Demands Made by AICWA:
Immediate suspension of all social media accounts of Diljit Dosanjh in India
Removal of all his songs and movies from platforms like YouTube, Spotify, JioSaavn & OTTs
Permanent ban on his live concerts and public performances across India
No association with him in any government program, event, or campaign
Full investigation into Sardar Ji 3’s funding & nationwide ban on its release

Additionally, AICWA has urged the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to deny certification to all of Diljit’s future film projects. The association warned of legal action against any production house or individual who chooses to work with the actor moving forward.
The film is currently scheduled to release overseas only on June 27, 2025.
On Sunday, Diljit dropped the trailer on Instagram, while the trailer has been uploaded to YouTube, it appears to be geo-blocked in India, showing the message, “The uploader has not made this video available in your country.” Teasers and songs from the film are however accessible to Indian users.
The film also stars Manav Vij, Gulshan Grover, Jasmin Bajwa, Sapna Pabbi and others in prominent roles. It is directed by Amar Hundal.
