Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case: Swara Bhakser feels actor’s death is being used for ulterior motives

"I don’t think Karan, Alia (Bhatt), Sonam (Kapoor) had anything to do with what happened with Sushant’s career," Swara Bhasker said.

Mumbai: Sushant Singh Rajput’s death has rekindled age old nepotism in Bollywood debate. The big honchos of Bollywood along with starkids are at the receiving end of criticism.

Recent social media trends to boycott Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan among others that surged after Sushant’s death have very much revealed fans’ aggression and grief over the death of Sushant. While the real reason of his suicide remans unknown in police investigation, fans are claiming that inferior treatment to outsiders by the Bollywood insiders prompted actor to take this step.

Many celebrities have openly put their views on nepotism out in public. In recent, a reported statement of Swara Bhasker is making headlines.

“We should have difficult conversations but there is a civilised way to do it. Right now, things are being said, and people are being blamed but Karan being vilified is unnecessary. I don’t think Karan, Alia (Bhatt), Sonam (Kapoor) had anything to do with what happened with Sushant’s career. It’s not a fair accusation,” Swara said in a recent interview.

“In the video, one can see that Karan is accepting that he might have chosen people who were right in front of him and things should change. I would like to give him credit for engaging with the issue. But the way things have happened was quite sad. It’s disgusting that Sushant’s death is being used for ulterior motives by some people. We must give Sushant dignity in his death and celebrate his life. He was a tremendous artiste,” she added.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Swara’s new web-series Rasbhari is currently streaming on Amazon Prime.
