Retro Release Date: Suriya has created buzz about his movie ‘Retro’ with ace filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj and received a good response to its exciting teaser. The makers have now finally announced the release date of ‘Retro’ along with a bloody and gory poster. ‘Retro’ also stars Pooja Hegde as the leading lady.

‘Retro’ will release in theatres on May 1, 2025.
Announcing the release date of Retro, Karthik Subbaraj wrote on Instagram, “The One from May One !! #Retro in Cinemas Worldwide from May 1st 2025.”

The title announcement teaser of ‘Retro’ was unveiled a few weeks ago. In the teaser, Suriya and Pooja are seen sitting together on stairs. Not much has been revealed about the film’s title but Suriya’s dialogues give some hints. He said in the video, “I will control my temper. Will quit working with my father. Violence, rowdyism, and hooliganism… will quit everything from this moment. Will try to smile and be happy. The purpose of my birth, in your language, my Dhammam, is love. Pure love. That’s it. I’m saying it cut and right. Now, tell me, should we get married?”
The movie also stars Joju George, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, and Nasser in pivotal roles.
In an earlier interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Suriya reflected on his personal and talked about his decision of shifting to Mumbai. He said, “I am balancing between Chennai and Mumbai. I take off for at least 10 days a month. I don’t shoot at all. For the remaining 20 days, I don’t mind shooting for 18-20 hours. For those 10 days, there’s no phone call from office or work. Of course, I meet my industry friends here. But, there’s no office per se. I am happy to walk with my daughter to the park or go for a drive or have ice cream. I enjoy taking my son for basketball.”

On the work front, Suriya was last seen in the movie ‘Kanguva’ but it did not work well at the box office.
