Arvind Swamy, the cinematic hero of  ‘Roja’ and ‘Bombay’, actually wanted to pursue the career field of medicine when he was a class 10th student.

During his college days, Swamy tried his luck at modeling for some pocket money and did a few advertisements. In a Mynah Raman ad, he caught Mani Ratnam’s eye, leading to roles in ‘Thalapathi’ and eventually ‘Roja’.

En route to the path of recovery from the accident, Swamy had founded Maximus—a company engaged in payroll processing and temporary staffing based in India. Though paralyzed, Swamy focuses entirely on his business.

RocketReach and other market trackers reported Talent Maximus’ net worth exceeding $428 million in 2022, equivalent to about ₹3500 crores in Indian currency.

After keeping himself away from films for quite a long period, Arvind Swamy started working again in the film nearly two decades later. He received tremendous acclamation from audiences for his portrayal of M.G. Ramachandran in ‘Thalaivii’ in 2021, pairing up with Kangana Ranaut.

In his personal life, in 1994, Arvind Swamy married Gayathri Ramamurthy. The couple later divorced in 2010. He then married to Aparna Mukerjee and is now forever living with both of his children, Adheera and Rudra Swamy.
