‘Superman’ became a surprising hit in theatres worldwide and received immense love from the fans. Starring David Corenswet in the title role, the movie brings back the glory of Superman to the big screen after eight years. David replaces Henry Cavill as the beloved superhero and received immense praise for his performance. The movie is now available digitally a month after its theatrical release.
Talking about the early OTT release of Superman, James Gunn told Screen Rant, “Well, it’s very complicated, but the truth is it is because of Peacemaker. I originally thought Peacemaker was going to be coming out next month.”
“There were a lot of things that were beyond our control, so that Peacemaker is coming out now, and, at the end of the day, I wanted everyone to be able to see Superman that wanted to, even those people who couldn’t get to a theater before Peacemaker. And that’s really the reason for it,” he added.
Apart from David Corenswet, the movie also stars Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult. Rachel plays Lois Lane, a journalist and Clark Kent a.k.a. Superman’s love interest. Nicholas plays Lex Luthor, the film’s antagonist who hates Superman.
While speaking to GQ, David revealed that he was initially hesitant to take on the iconic role of Superman. He shared, “A role like Superman seems like something that everybody would want, and that’s not true. There are some people who wouldn’t want that role and who would, if given the opportunity, say no. I am obviously not one of those people. But I certainly tried to think of reasons not to.”

He added, “Ultimately, what I landed on for myself was, if this is the only role I get to play for the rest of my life, and that means whether I get to play it once or get to play it 10 times, would I still say yes? And the answer was yes.”
However, ‘Superman’ is yet to officially release on the OTT platform.
