This festive season, Bollywood’s only Hindi release is Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, a romantic comedy featuring Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf. However, the film faces tough competition at the box office from the South, with Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 the much anticipated prequel to the 2022 hit which had earned Rs 84 crore in its Hindi dubbed run. Both films are set to hit theatres across India on October 2, 2025.
Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari advance booking
Advance bookings for the rom-com opened on Sunday, four days before its release. By Monday noon, the film had sold nearly 9,000 tickets nationwide, according to trade sources. Sacnilk reported its advance collection at Rs 29.32 lakh.

The movie is directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta and Shashank Khaitan under Dharma Productions and Mentor Disciple Entertainment present. It also stars Rohit Saraf and Sanya Malhotra.
The movie focuses on Sunny and Tulsi, who are heartbroken after their partners break up with them. They make up a plan to win their partners back, who are actually getting married.
Kantara Chapter 1 advance booking (Hindi Dub)
Even though it’s a Kannada movie, the Hindi version is doing really well. By Monday afternoon, it had already sold over 11,000 tickets and earned about Rs 33 lakh, beating Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.
About Kantara Chapter 1
Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, the prequel explores the mythological origins of the story told in Kantara. Set ten centuries before the events of the first film, it features Shetty in a new role alongside Rukmini Vasanth, Jayaram, and Gulshan Devaiah.
