‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’, starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in the titular roles, has brought commercial romance-comedy back to the theatres. The movie has received a decent response but is now struggling to attract the audience. Also starring Rohit Saraf and Sanya Malhotra in the lead roles, the story follows two former lovers trying to win back their exes by attempting to break their upcoming wedding.

According to website Sacnilk, ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ collected Rs 3 crore only on day 5. The movie did not generated the expected response and also clashed with ‘Kantara Chapter 1’. It has earned Rs 33 crore in total.
Maniesh Paul, Akshay Oberoi, Abhinav Sharma, Manini Chadha, Mallika Chhabra, Rohitashv Gour, Monika Kohli, Nazneen Madan, Gaurav Sikri, Dharna Durga, Salim Arif and Kavita Pais are seen in supporting roles. YouTuber-actor Prajakta Kohli appeared in cameo roles.

The movie has also been grabbing headlines due to its song ‘Panwadi’. Varun Dhawan expressed his excitement when the song was released, “Panwadi is pure celebration brought to life on screen. Shooting the song felt like being part of a real Holi party — vibrant colours splashing everywhere, infectious beats pumping, and an energy that was simply contagious. It’s the kind of song that will make people jump out of their seats and dance with pure joy. The movie is directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta and Shashank Khaitan under Dharma Productions and Mentor Disciple Entertainment present. ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ is also Varun and Janhvi’s second collaboration.
