Sunjay Kapur, the popular Indian businessperson and ex-husband to the Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor passed away on June 12 in London. He was 53 years old. According to the reports, he suffered a heart attack when playing polo. Other reports have assumed that the heart attack could have been a result of a bee sting during the play though the confirmation on the cause of death is not disclosed.
According to reports, the funeral of Sunjay could be delayed because of some legal problems regarding his US citizenship. A source close to Sunjay’s family told NDTV, “The complication arises from the fact that Sunjay was a US citizen who passed away in the UK, leading to an extended legal process before his body can be flown to India for the final rites.”
According to Ashok Sachdev, Sunjay’s father-in-law and the father of his wife Priya Sachdev, the funeral will be held in Delhi. He informed NDTV, “The postmortem is currently underway. Once the paperwork is complete, the body will be brought to India for the last rites.”
