Actor Suniel Shetty is overjoyed as he eagerly awaits the arrival of his grandchild. In a recent podcast with Chanda Kochhar, he accidentally revealed when his daughter, actress Athiya Shetty, and her cricketer husband KL Rahul are expecting their first baby.
While discussing family conversations, Suniel shared that the main topic at their dinner table is the upcoming baby. He excitedly stated, “Right now, probably the grandchild. There’s no other conversation, and we don’t want any other conversation. We’re just looking forward (to meeting the grandchild) in April.”

Athiya’s Pregnancy Glow
The actor also expressed how beautiful Athiya looks during her pregnancy, reminiscing about his wife, Mana, during her own journey to motherhood. “Everything revolves around the baby; whether it’s a boy, it’s a girl, nothing matters. I always thought Mana looked the most beautiful when she was pregnant. Now, I see Athiya, and she’s looking the most beautiful,” he added.
The Couple’s Journey
Athiya, known for films like Hero, Mubarakan, and Motichoor Chaknachoor, tied the knot with KL Rahul in January 2023 after dating for a few years. In November last year, they announced they were expecting their first child.
In April 2023, Suniel had hinted at becoming a grandfather while appearing on Dance Deewane. When host Bharti Singh teased him about it, he playfully said, “Yes, next season when I come, I will be walking on the stage like a nana.” Fans believed this was a confirmation, but the couple remained silent on the rumours at the time.
