After the blockbuster success of the 2018 movie “Stree,” Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan have returned with the highly anticipated sequel, “Stree 2,” in the popular horror-comedy franchise. Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao are once again leading the cast, joined by Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Abhishek Banerjee. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the teaser suggests an exciting storyline featuring the original cast returning for another spooky adventure. They embark on a mission to protect Chanderi from evil spirits following a series of supernatural events.
The teaser was shared on social media with the tagline, “Iss baar Chanderi mein azaadi ke din hoga aatank!” hinting at its release on Independence Day.
The teaser for Stree 2 was released earlier alongside Munjya, marking both films as part of the ambitious Dinesh Vijan Cinematic Universe. This universe aims to unite various intriguing horror-comedies. The upcoming Varun Dhawan movie Bhediya is also anticipated to join this cinematic world.
Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee will reprise their roles as Vicky, Rudra, Bittu, and Jana in the film. It promises to blend scares with humor as the infamous Stree continues to haunt men. Originally scheduled for late August, the makers recently announced the film’s release date has been moved up. It is now set to release on August 15, 2024.
