‘Stree 2’ came as a saviour for Bollywood at a time when Hindi cinema has been facing several setbacks in theatres. The movie has officially become the highest-grossing Hindi movie in India and has surpassed the lifetime collection of Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster film ‘Jawan’. ‘Stree 2’ has collected Rs 586 crore in total, whereas, ‘Jawan’ earned Rs 582.31 crore in total. Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in the lead roles, the movie revolves around a group of friends trying to save their city from the terror of a demon called Sarkata.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, ‘Stree 2’ has become the highest-grossing Hindi film ever in India and will soon enter the Rs 600 crore club. This massive achievement comes at a time when the theatres are dominated by action and mass entertainer commercial movies.
