Stranger Things Season 5 is undoubtedly one of the most awaited shows of 2025. It is a bittersweet feeling for fans as the fifth season will be the final chapter this series. As fans eagerly wait for the trailer release, the wait might finally be over. A flurry of social media clues, fan theories, and Netflix updates suggest that the Season 5 trailer could be released on July 15, coinciding with the show’s ninth anniversary.
On July 12, the official Stranger Things broadcast channel posted a cryptic message “scanning for signal..”
This marked the first post since May 30, when a mysterious voice note hinted at a TUDUM teaser. Fans believe this could be the precursor to the trailer drop.
Fans speculate that Tuesday, July 15, could be the chosen date because it marks nine years since Season 1 premiered on Netflix.
Netflix recently updated its Stranger Things YouTube account, adding a new playlist named “Stranger Things 5.” Additionally, Ross Duffer posted on Instagram on July 2 with the caption, “On the mix stage..” The image read “THE FINAL SEASON,” suggesting final post production work may be ongoing or complete.
Even a prominent fan page, @stranngerthingsnetflix on Instagram has claimed July 15 as the likely date for the trailer reveal.

Stranger Things Season 5 will arrive on Netflix in 2025 but in three volumes. The first part will include four episodes and will release on November 26. The second part will have three episodes and will release on Netflix on December 25, i.e. on Christmas. Meanwhile, the finale aka the eight episode or volume three will release on December 31, i.e. on New Year’s eve.
The finale will star Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Brett Gelman, Cara Buono, Jamie Campbell Bower and Amybeth McNulty. Linda Hamilton has joined the cast as well. Although it is officially confirmed that Linda Hamilton will join the cast of ‘Stranger Things Season 5’, details around her role in the show has been kept under wrap.
