‘Stranger Things Season 5’ has already kept the audience hooked even before its release. Fans are prepared to tune in for the finale and have been speculating its plot and ending. Set in the 1980s, the series focuses on a fictional town called Hawkins, where the children unravel a series of extraordinary mysteries. In a recent interview, the creators gave a big update regarding the show’s plot.
While speaking to Variety, the creators of Stranger Things Season 5 confirmed that there will be an 18-month time jump from the fourth season. For the unversed, in Season 4, Vecna successfully opened the dimensions of Upside Down, which had a severe effect on the Hawkins.
Meanwhile, in another interview, the cast revealed that they were worried about the show’s finale receiving similar hate to ‘Game of Thrones’. While speaking to Time Magazine, Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike, said, “I think everyone was pretty worried, honestly. The way that Game of Thrones got torn to shreds in that final season, we’re all walking into this going, ‘We hope to not have that kind of thing happen’ … But then we read the scripts. We knew that it was something special.”
Earlier, the Duffer Brothers weighed in on the possibility of releasing the finale in theatres due to its popularity. Talking about how the viewers don’t get to completely enjoy the series in their homes, Matt Duffer told Variety, “People don’t get to experience how much time and effort is spent on sound and picture, and they’re seeing it at reduced quality.”
As per reports, the final season is made on the budget of a whopping 400 to 480 million USD, with 50 to 60 million USD spent per episode. It is certainly one of the most expensive television shows of all time. A huge budget is required for the grand set designs, which have teleported the audience to the 80s era and upside down. Moreover, the show has a huge cast and is heavily dependent on the VFX.
