Stranger Things Season 5 is currently having its peak pop-culture moment on social media, and netizens can’t get enough of it. After the release of its first volume, several viewers noticed something and were delightedly surprised. The first episode showcased a missing persons poster of Eleven, aka Jane Hopper, with a phone number written on it.
Some netizens dialled the number and were shocked when someone actually picked it up. In the video shared by Ian Boggs, the caller says, “due to the recent 7.4 magnitude earthquake, Hawkins is currently under lockdown to ensure the safety of our residents.” It further says that the Emergency Task Force is prioritising the search for Jane Hopper. “We urge you, as a responsible citizen of Hawkins, to assist in our search to locate her,” the call adds.
The official synopsis read, “But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before. To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.”
