Malayalam filmmaker Sanal Kumar Sasidharan was detained at Mumbai Airport last night after an actress filed a complaint accusing him of stalking and harassment. He was stopped by the airport authorities based on a lookout notice issued in his name. He will be taken to Kochi for further questioning. The police had registered a case against Sanal Kumar in January under sections such as stalking and harassment and insulting femininity. The actress has filed a complaint in an email to the City Police Commissioner, which was forwarded to the Elamakkara police.
About The Case
Sanalkumar has been accused of stalking the actress on social media. He had shared several posts mentioning and tagging the actress. Additionally, he started releasing voice messages in the actress’s name. However, on Actress’s complaint, the police had taken action to remove posts defaming the actress from Facebook. While a case was pending in the previous complaint against Sanal, the actress approached the police again, alleging that she was being followed and harassed.
Sanalkumar was arrested by the police in 2022 and granted bail by the court. Meanwhile, Sanalkumar alleged that it was not clear in which case the action was taken and that he was detained for hours in Mumbai without being provided with food or adequate facilities.
What Happened At Mumbai Airport On September 7?
He arrived in Mumbai at 4 am on Sunday. He was then detained by the airport authority, and was later transferred to the nearby Sahar police station. The police had registered a case against Sanalkumar Sasidharan in January under sections such as stalking and harassment and insulting femininity. After filing the complaint through an e-mail to the City Police Commissioner, the actress had also given a statement to the police in the incident. Sanalkumar was in the US when the case was registered. The police had issued a lookout notice to apprehend Sanalkumar upon his arrival in India. Following this, he was stopped at the airport. Sanalkumar himself had announced the blocking yesterday through social media.
