SS Rajamouli, who has taken Indian cinema to new heights, will soon return with another film tentatively titled ‘SSMB29’ with Mahesh Babu. As per reports, Priyanka Chopra will also star in the movie, but the makers are yet to make an official announcement. It is well known that SS Rajamouli’s films are made and released on big scale but ‘SSMB29’ is planning to take things to a different level.
According to reports, SSMB29 will release in 120 countries and will surpass Shah Rukh Khan’s film ‘Pathaan’. Earlier, Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Honourable Musalia Mudavadi, announced this news on X and shared pictures with SS Rajamouli.
He wrote, “Kenya this past fortnight became the stage for one of the world’s greatest filmmakers, @ssrajamouli, the visionary Indian director, screenwriter, and storyteller whose works have captured the imagination of audiences across continents.”

“Rajamouli, with a career spanning over two decades, is renowned for weaving together powerful narratives, groundbreaking visuals, and deep cultural resonance. His team of 120 crew members chose Kenya after an extensive scouting tour across East Africa, settling on our nation as the primary filming destination where nearly 95% of the African scenes are being shot,” he added.
He further wrote, “From the sweeping plains of the Masai Mara to the scenic Naivasha, the rugged Samburu, and the iconic Amboseli, Kenya’s landscapes are now etched into what is set to become the largest film production in Asia. Scheduled for release in over 120 countries, the movie is expected to reach more than a billion viewers worldwide.”
Meanwhile, according to Hindustan Times, Mahesh Babu is currently shooting in Nairobi, Kenya’s Nairobi for SSMB29. A source close to the development was quoted as saying, “SS Rajamouli has begun the shoot of his next project in Nairobi, Kenya, with the lead pair Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. The actors are currently shooting in the hidden locations of the city under severe surveillance. Phones of the crew aren’t allowed on the sets.”
The official title and release date of ‘SSMB29’ are yet to be announced.
