New Delhi: Pathaan by Shah Rukh Khan is unstoppable. We say this because it is currently sweeping Bangladesh, a neighbouring country, after making history at home. The Siddharth Anand-directed movie, which holds the record for highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time, has opened in Bangladesh for the first time since the nation gained its independence in 1971. Not at all.
The nation where it was released today has reached the milestone of having pre-orders that break records.
According to media reports, Ananya Mamun, a representative of the film’s importing business, Action-Cut Entertainment, revealed that the film will be screened in 198 shows every day at 41 theatres around the nation. Mamun stated that the first two days’ worth of tickets had already been claimed.
After being reviewed by the board members on Thursday, Pathaan obtained approval from the Bangladesh Film Censor Board, clearing the path for its nationwide distribution. In an effort to protect the homegrown film industry, the Bangladeshi government removed the restriction on the importation of films from the Indian subcontinent earlier this year, but only under certain circumstances.
Since its January release, the Yash Raj Films-produced movie Pathaan has attracted a lot of attention because to its action-packed scenes and Shah Rukh Khan’s star power both in India and beyond.
The release of the Shah Rukh Khan-starring film received a big announcement from Nelson D’Souza, Vice President of International Distribution at YRF. He said that because it is the first Hindi film to be released in Bangladesh since 1971, the movie would be a historic occasion.
