Squid Game is returning for its third and final season and the excitement among the fans is off the roof. The show focuses on people on 456 players, who are struggling financially, and decide to play children’s games with deadly twists to win cash prizes. The final season will showcase whether Player No. 456 aka Seong Gi-hun will put an end to these games or not. Netflix recently dropped new posters, featuring the main cast of Squid Game Season 3. This also indicates which player will be headed for the final battle.
Sharing the posters, the makers wrote, “The final games. The final players. The final Season. Squid Game Season 3, June 27.”
The poster features the player numbers 456, 333, 388, 120, 007, 149 and 222 and also the Front Man. The show stars Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-joon, Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-shim, Jo Yu-ri, Lee David, and Roh Jae-won.
Earlier, while announcing Season 3, director Hwang Dong-hyuk said in a statement, “I am beyond excited to be writing this letter to announce the date for Season 2 and share the news of Season 3, the final season. On the first day, we began shooting Season 2, I remember thinking, “Wow, I can’t believe I’m back in the world of Squid Game.” It almost felt surreal. I wonder how it will feel for you to be back in Squid Game after three years, as well.”
He added, “Seong Gi-hun who vowed revenge at the end of Season 1 returns and joins the game again. Will he succeed in getting his revenge? Front Man doesn’t seem to be an easy opponent this time either. The fierce clash between their two worlds will continue into the series finale with Season 3, which will be brought to you next year. I am thrilled to see the seed that was planted in creating a new Squid Game grow and bear fruit through the end of this story. We’ll do our best to make sure we bring you yet another thrill ride. Squid Game Season 3 will release on Netflix on June 27. The second season ended on a big cliffhanger, in which some of the players were captured or killed by the Front Man.
