OTT platform Netflix finally dropped the teaser of much-awaited Squid Game Season 2. The streamer released the clip as part of Netflix Geekend Week 2024, held in Atlanta. The show will premier on December 26 this year.
Sharing the teaser video on social media platform X, Netflix wrote, “The game never stops. Are you ready to play? Squid Game Season 2 arrives December 26 #GeekendWeek”
The gripping teaser trailer starts with Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae) awakened by the sound of his alarm. Cut 2, he opens the main door of his house with nervousness on face and a gun pointed at someone known to be the Front Man – a masked leader behind Squid Game.
The teaser then quickly shows new players getting ready to take part in a dangerous game where their lives are at stake. From the background, someone says in Korean, “We’re ready to start the game”.
In Season 2, three years have passed since Gi-hun won the Squid Game. Instead of moving to the United States as he had planned, he returns with a new determination. He enters the mysterious survival game once more, where he faces another dangerous competition. This time, there are new players who have come together to compete for a huge prize of 45.6 billion won. Our very own Gi-hun is Player 456.
