Squid Game 2 Trailer Out: ‘Squid Game’ took South Korean cinema to new heights with the series winning several international awards. It is all set to return with its much-awaited second season and the makers have finally unveiled its intriguing trailer. ‘Squid Game 2’ will mark the return of some old characters and the addition of a talented ensemble star cast.

The official synopsis of ‘Squid Game Season 2’ reads, “Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 gave up going to the states and comes back with a new resolution in his mind. Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion won.”
While speaking to Netflix about the fans’ expectations for ‘Squid Game Season 2’, director Hwang Dong Hyuk said, “I do have a lot on my shoulders, but I’ll make sure it’s worth the wait.” Executive producer Kim Ji-yeon added, “There’s definitely a lot of pressure on how to make [Season 2] even better. I know that a lot of the different fans and audiences have enjoyed the series very much, but, really, we’re focusing on how to make it even more joyful to the global audience.”
Directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, the series stars Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo in the lead roles, who are going to reprise their respective roles from the previous season. Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an are the new addition to the star cast.
‘Squid Game Season 2’ will release on Netflix on December 26, 2024.
