Prabhas has teamed up with filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga for the first time for ‘Spirit’. On the actor’s birthday, Vanga shared a small glimpse from the film. Prabhas is now confirmed to play the role of an IPS officer.
Sharing the teaser, Sandeep Reddy Vanga wrote, “Happy Birthday Prabhas anna. Presenting a ‘SOUND-STORY’ in five Indian languages straight from the heart, for every fan who’s felt his.”
Earlier, Deepika was reportedly cast as the female lead in Spirit but was replaced by Triptii Dimri. The filmmaker later shared a cryptic post on X in which he talked about an actor playing dirty PR games and putting down a younger actor.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga wrote on X, “When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) between us. But by doing this, You’ve ‘DISCLOSED’ the person that you are…. Putting down a Younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for ? As a filmmaker, I put years of hard work behind my craft & for me, filmmaking is everything. You didn’t get it. You won’t get it. You will never get it. Aisa karo…. Agli baar poori kahani bolna… kyunki mujhe jarra bhi farak nahi padtha. #dirtyPRgames I like this kahawath very much. खुंदक में बिल्ली खंबा नोचे !”
Meanwhile, sharing the news of joining Spirit, Triptii wrote, “Still sinking in…. So grateful to be trusted with this journey. Thank you @sandeepreddy.vanga ..honoured to be a part of your vision.”
This post comes after it was reported that Deepika left Spirit due to some bold scenes in the film.
The official release date of Spirit has not been announced yet. It also stars Vivek Oberoi.
