The highly anticipated animated picture will not be published in some parts of the Gulf region, according to Saudi Cinema, which is overseen by the General Commission for Audiovisual Media, since it 'contradicts the content controls in place,' according to Unilad. While the reason for the ban is unknown, many fans believe it is related to the brief appearance of a pro-trans banner, with many fans assuming that Gwen is a trans-ally. While little is known about Gwen Stacy's adolescent experience, there are scenes in the film where she talks to her father about her own identity. A trans flag with the slogan 'Protect Trans Kids' can be seen hanging on the wall of Gwen's room in one scene. There is also persistent speculation concerning Gwen's gender identity. Screenwriters and producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller revealed in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly that Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse were part of Miles Morales' trilogy, which will conclude with Beyond the Spider-Verse. The third installment of the trilogy will be released on March 29, 2024.
