Sonu Nigam recently performed at the Delhi Technological University’s (DTU) Engifest 2025 and set the stage on fire with his magical yet energetic performance. However, the singer had to pause his show midway after some people the crowd threw stones and bottles at the stage. Despite the chaotic situation, Sonu remained calm and urged the crowd not to create any disturbance.
According to Hindustan Times, Sonu paused the midway to address the crowd and said, “Main aapke liye aaya hun yahan pe so that we can all have a good time. I’m not asking you to not enjoy, but please aisa na kariye. (I have come here for you so that we can all have a good time. I’m not asking you to not enjoy, but please don’t do this).”
Meanwhile, several videos have been going viral from the concert as fans praise his performance. In one video, the singer is seen wearing a hairband and continued performing. A fan wrote, “The way crowd was cheering “Pookie-Pookie” after this.”

In a recent interview with O2 India, Sonu talked about his experience of working with legendary composures AR Rahman and Pritam. He shared, “AR Rahman gives you so much liberty. You don’t feel like you are singing in a high-pressure environment. Pritam comes from a different school of thought. He goes into the nitty-gritty, and he isn’t wrong. Everyone has their own style. I remember telling Pritam that you are just the opposite of AR Rahman. I told him that Rahman is such a renowned composer and he does not bother anyone, and you are just splitting hairs. He was perhaps offended by this then but I said what I was experiencing”.
He added, “I said with love that you are splitting hairs. AR Rahman does not say anything. He just asks you to sing, and then he says ‘okay done’. Every singer will tell you that Rahman does not bother any singer. That’s his special quality.”
On the work front, Sonu Nigam is currently on his concert tour and has performed at several cities in India.
