New Delhi: Bigg Boss 14 fame and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sonali Phogat passed away on Monday night due to a heart attack. Hours before her demise, Sonali posted a video from her official Instagram account. The news of her demise was confirmed by Goa DGP Jaspal Singh.

Capt Bhupender, district president of the Hisar BJP told PTI, “Sonali ji was in Goa. I spoke to her assistant and he said that she died of a heart attack”. It was not immediately clear as to when she died.
Now a new development came forward in connection to Sonali Phogat’s death. Her sister alleged that Sonali’s food was poisoned, according to ETimes report. She claimed that Sonali was fine as she went out for shooting. The politician-actress informed her sister that she will return by August 27.
On August 22, Sonali informed her mother that she was feeling uneasy after eating food. According to the report, at night the actress told her mother that there was a conspiracy being run behind her and suspected something had been mixed in her food. Today, Sonali’s sister informed that Sonali said, “mere pe kuch saazish ho rahi hai…”
As per reports, the DGP of Goa has denied anything suspicious and a post-mortem is awaited for further enquiries.
Meanwhile, the actress’s body has been kept at Goa Medical College in Bambolim. The postmortem is likely to take place tomorrow, August 24.

Sonali’s television career
In 2016, Phogat made her acting debut with the TV show ‘Amma: Ek Maa Jo Laakhon Ke Liye Bani Amma’. She was also a part of the web series, ‘The Story Of Badmashgarh’ in 2019. Her TikTok videos were also quite popular among netizens. She became a household name with her appearance in Bigg Boss 14.
