Two highly anticipated sequels, Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2, were released in theatres on August 1. While Son of Sardaar 2 brings back Ajay Devgn in a comic avatar, Dhadak 2 offers a fresh take on romance with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri in the lead. Both films had a fair amount of buzz before release, but now that they’re out, audiences and critics are reacting quite differently to each. As they compete for attention at the box office alongside ongoing hits like Saiyaara and Mahavtar Narasimha, it’s interesting to see how the numbers are shaping up for both.
Son Of Sardaar 2 Box Office Collection Day 5:
Son Of Sardaar 2 had a decent start at the box office, collecting Rs 7.25 crore on its opening day. The film showed steady growth over the weekend, earning Rs 8.25 crore on Day 2, a 13.79% jump and Rs 9.25 crore on Day 3 with a 12.12% increase. However, the momentum slowed significantly on Day 4, with collections dropping to Rs 2.35 crore, marking a sharp 74.59% decline. On Day 5, the film managed a slight recovery with Rs 2.50 crore (as per early estimates). This brings the total five day collection of Son Of Sardaar 2 to Rs 29.60 crore.
With its current total standing at Rs 29.60 crore, Son Of Sardaar 2 is steadily inching towards the Rs 30 crore mark at the box office.
The response for Ajay Devgn’s ‘Son of Sardaar 2’ hasn’t been too promising. The film has largely received mixed to negative reviews. Earlier this year, Raid 2 had a much better start, earning Rs 19.25 crore on its first day. Good reviews and positive word of mouth pushed the film past Rs 100 crore within just a few days.

Apart from Ajay Devgn, the movie also stars Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan and Sanjay Mishra in lead roles. ‘Son Of Sardaar 2’ also features the late actor Mukul Dev, who passed away on May 23, 2025, just a few months before the film’s release. The first part of ‘Son Of Sardaar 2’ was released in 2012 and starred Sonakshi Sinha, Juhi Chawla and Sanjay Dutt.
Dhadak 2 Box Office Collection Day 5:
Dhadak 2 had a modest start at the box office, collecting Rs 3.5 crore on its opening day. The film showed a slight upward trend over the weekend, earning Rs 3.75 crore on Day 2 and Rs 4.15 crore on Day 3, bringing its first weekend total to Rs 11.4 crore. However, the momentum dipped sharply on Day 4 with collections dropping to Rs 1.35 crore, marking a significant decline of over 67%. On Day 5, the film is estimated to have earned around Rs 1.60 crore, taking the total collection to approximately Rs 14.35 crore.
While the opening weekend showed some promise, the weekday drop suggests that Dhadak 2 may face an uphill battle in maintaining its box office pace in the coming days.
The romantic drama is facing tough competition at the box office from Ajay Devgn’s sequel Son of Sardaar 2. Meanwhile, Saiyaara and the animated film Mahavtar Narasimha are also performing strongly.
