Son of Sardaar 2 OTT release: When, where to watch, cast, plot & all you need to know about Ajay Devgn’s comedy film

Ajay Devgn’s Son of Sardaar 2 is set for its digital debut after a theatrical run.

A standalone sequel to the 2012 hit Son of Sardaar, the 2025 comedy stars Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur. After its theatrical run, the film is now set to make its OTT debut. The movie clashed at the box office with Dhadak 2, which released on the same day, August 1, 2025.

When and where to watch

Sharing the announcement on Instagram, Netflix captioned, “Silencer paao puttar. Sardaar ki entry hone wali hai. Watch Son of Sardaar 2, out 26 September, on Netflix.”

The comedy film will premiere on Netflix on September 26.

Cast

Apart from Ajay Devgn, the movie also stars Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan and Sanjay Mishra in lead roles. ‘Son Of Sardaar 2’ also features the late actor Mukul Dev, who passed away on May 23, 2025, just a few months before the film’s release.

Plot

The story is about Jassi (Ajay Devgn), who goes to Scotland to patch things up with his wife but ends up stuck in a mob fight and a messy Sikh wedding. While trying to rescue hostages and save his marriage, he gets caught in one funny problem after another.

More About Son of Sardaar 2

The first part of ‘Son Of Sardaar 2’ was released in 2012 and starred Sonakshi Sinha, Juhi Chawla and Sanjay Dutt. The film was originally scheduled to release on 25 July 2025, however it was postponed to 1 August 2025. The film has grossed Rs 60.9 crore (US$7.2 million) at box office.
