OMG 2: Actor Akshay Kumar’s film OMG 2 (Oh My God 2) is getting good response at the box office. It has got good critic reviews too. However, people have mixed reactions with some saying that it is a good film made on social issues, while some are finding it hurtful to religious sentiments.
Meanwhile, Rashtriya Hindu Parishad Bharat, a Hindu organization from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, expressed their anger over the film and announced a 10 lakh reward to slap Akshay Kumar.
The Rashtriya Hindu Parishad India on Thursday accused Akshay Kumar of hurting Hindu sentiments and burnt his effigies and poster of OMG2. Later, they threatened in front of cinema halls as well.
Film insults lord shiva – Govind Parashar
The organization’s president Govind Parashar said that the film had insulted Lord Shiva in some scenes.
In the film, Akshay Kumar has been described as the messenger of Bholenath. He stands with his shoes on, buys kachoris, and takes a bath in the dirty water of the pond. This tarnishes the image of God, said Govind Parashar.
The organization demanded that the censor board and the central government should ban the film. If this does not happen, we will continue our fierce protest, he warned.
OMG 2 confronts protest
Sadhvi Ritambhara, the founder of Durga Vahini Vrindavan, criticized the film. He said, “It is the magnanimity of Hinduism that inspires Bollywood to indulge in such audacity time and again. They are afraid to comment on any other religion except Hinduism. In the past also Hindu deities have been insulted in films. The faith of Hindus should not be played with.”
