Patriotic films based on the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force are filled with patriotism, and Republic Day week or Independence Day week is the perfect time for such films. Last year, Hrithik Roshan’s film Fighter, which was based on the Indian Air Force’s surgical strike, was released around the same time. And this time, it’s Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force.
The upcoming movie, based on the first surgical strike of the Indian Air Force, which took place in 1965. It will release on January 24. The film stars Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya, who is the grandson of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde.
Story
Sky Force begins in 1971, where tensions are high between India and Pakistan. Wing Commander Kumar Om Ahuja (Akshay Kumar) interrogates Pakistani Air Force Wing Commander Ahmed (Sharad Kelkar) and finds out that Squadron Leader T.K. Vijaya (Veer Pahariya) went missing during the first Indian Air Force surgical strike in Pakistan in 1965.
Direction, Writing & Music
The film is directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapoor. Sandeep has also written the film, with the help of Aamil Keyan Khan, who wrote the screenplay for Drishyam 2, and Niren Bhatt, who wrote the dialogues for Stree 2.
Acting
Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya have done a great job in the film. Nimrat Kaur and Sara Ali Khan also appear in the film. After delivering three back-to-back flop films last year, Akshay Kumar is taking flight with Sky Force this year.
Final Verdict
Sky Force is releasing on the occasion of Republic Day and New Year. Based on a true incident, the film showcases patriotism and sacrifice effectively. It’s worth watching on Republic Day.
