“People cannot condone support for a uniformed government security professional behaving totally out of line,” said Sona Mohapatra.

On Saturday, Sona Mohapatra responded to music composer Vishal Dadlani’s job offer to the CISF constable who slapped actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh airport. Via X (previously Twitter), the singer addressed the recent slap incident through a series of tweets.

She responded to a tweet stating, “Renowned singer and music director Vishal Dadlani has extended a job offer to CISF officer Kulwinder Kaur, who put Kangana Ranaut in her place. He is a rare gem in Bollywood who has never compromised his integrity. Massive respect.”

Sona replied, stating, “Having a ‘spine’ entails sitting alongside a multiple-accused serial molester like Anu Malik on the judges’ panel, and when colleagues like me urge you to take a stand, speak out, and help combat this toxic reality show culture — responding with ‘want to earn money before leaving this country’… truly a gem, I must say.”

In 2018, Sona and Shweta Pandit, along with two other unnamed women, leveled accusations of sexual harassment against Indian Idol judge and music composer Anu Malik. He actively denied all allegations. Vishal, who resumed his role as one of the judges on Indian Idol 14, had been seen alongside Anu during a previous season of the reality show.
