Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty and her businessman husband Raj Kundra performed ‘Kanya Pujan’ during the auspicious Indian festival of Navratri by praying to their very own Goddess and daughter, Samisha Shetty.
All About Navratri As a Poignant Indian Festival:
Navratri is an important Indian festival celebrated annually that witnesses a nine-day long set of festivities including the ‘garba raas’, ‘ram leela’, ‘Durga puja’, and more across different parts of the country.
In the eastern parts of the country, particularly West Bengal, the festival is an annual event that is celebrated as ‘Durga Puja’. It is complete with ‘pandal hopping’, ‘dhunuchi naach’, festive delicacies such as ‘rasgullas’, ‘mughlai parathas’, ‘sandesh’, and more.
Whereas, in north India, it is celebrated as ‘Navratri’ which is a nine-day long festival celebrating Lord Rama defeating Ravana which is popularly termed as ‘victory of good over evil’.
‘Sukhee’ actor Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra celebrated the most adorable and heart-melting ‘Ashtami Puja’ this Navratri as they prayed to their very own daughter and deity, Samisha Shetty.

The ‘Shut up And Bounce’ actor took to Instagram to share an exclusive sneak peek into her very own celebration of ‘kanjak’ and ‘kanya pujan’ with the caption saying, “🌷॥ जय माता दी ॥🌷 On the auspicious occasion of Ashtami today, we performed the Kanya puja with our very own DEVI, Samisha♥️😇🙏 Our way of paying gratitude to the Supreme Goddess Maha Gauri today and her nine divine forms🙏
In the video both Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra are seen performing ‘Ashtami Puja’ rituals by washing Samisha’s feet, performing ‘aarti’, showering her feet with flowers, and seeking her blessings.
Later in the video, Shilpa Shetty is also seen doing ‘aarti’ of her son, Viaan Raj Kundra with an ‘aarti ki thali’. After the ‘ashtami puja’ is completed Viaan is seen playing with his sister Samisha by trying to lift her up and being goofy with her.
