An actress who started her career with just one film in her first year is now one of the busiest heroines in South cinema. This year alone, she has worked in seven films six have already released, and the last one will come out in December. Can you guess who she is?
It’s Anupama Parameswaran.
While many actresses struggle to even land a single film, Anupama has quietly created a record by doing seven movies in one year. Once unsure about getting steady opportunities, she is now packed with back-to-back roles and keeps surprising fans with her performances.
Hailing from Thrissur, Kerala, Anupama entered the industry at 19 with the Malayalam hit Premam (2015). Her small but memorable role as Mary won hearts and brought her new offers. She then stepped into Tamil cinema with Dhanush in Kodi. Though she began with Malayalam and Tamil films, it was Telugu cinema that truly embraced her.
For years, Anupama mostly appeared in two to four films annually, often in second lead roles, without major success. But this year marked a big turning point. She featured in seven films: Tamil movies Dragon and Bison got good appreciation, Malayalam films like The Pet Detective and Janaki released, and she also did Telugu films like Kishkendrapuri and Bharat. Her seventh film of the year, Lockdown, a survival thriller set during the COVID-19 pandemic, is scheduled to release on December 5 and has already generated buzz.
At a time when even leading actresses struggle to secure multiple films, Anupama has pulled off an impressive achievement by completing seven projects in a single year.
