Shark Tank India is back with its fourth season and has been creating waves on the internet due to its interesting episodes. In a recent episode, the siblings entrepreneuers Aditi and Ashish Jawa, who are the founders of skincare brand Personal Touch, presented their pitch in front of Sharks. However, things did not go well for them as Vineeta Singh accused them of manipulating their figures and questioned their revenue.
Addressing the accusations, both Aditi and Ashish appeared on Ayushman Pandita’s podcast. Ashish shared, “We are very strong on influencer marketing. We have a lot of friends who are influencers. We have worked with over 200 influencers so far and if we create hype through them, by making them post stories (on social media), their followers would notice, right? They would be aware that something is dropping.”
He added, “Before the launch, a sample of the product is sent to all the chosen ones. And then, after using, they share their reviews openly in groups and on their stories. Then, with the help of the influencers and our clients-turned-endorsers, we launch the product and talks about it will persist for at least a month.”

Meanwhile, Aditi added,”We were selected from a list of 7,000 skincare brands to go on the platform. If you doubt us, that means you are doubting Sony.”
Talking about the accusations of boosting Instagram posts, Ashish clarified, “I didn’t know the reel was boosted, although I should have known. I take complete responsibility.” Explaining the controversy, Aditi added, “On Shark Tank, they ask for your most viral reel 15 minutes prior to the show. Ours was with an influencer when we launched our lip balms. It has 84 million views. The Shark Tank team asks for NOCs from those who posted visible comments and liked the reel. Firstly, we pinged our celebrity collaborators. But which celebrity will give you NOC on such short notice? Then they said to pin those reels that don’t pose the issue of having to get NOCs. And we did. On the show, they played one of the videos, and yes, we should have known (that the post was boosted) as founders, but there are many things that the agency (that handles social media) does that we weren’t aware of. But we were forced to showcase that reel because of the NOC issue.”
Shark Tank India is available to watch on SonyLiv.
