‘Shark Tank India 5’ is set for a major change as a new shark is set to join the show. The upcoming season has created excitement among the viewers, who have high expectations due to the previous season. The former shark Ghazal Alagh introduced the new addition to the show, and it is none other than her husband, Varun Alagh.
The announcement was made through a promotional video in which Ghazal playfully introduced Varun as “Papa Earth”, mentioning it as a warm handover rather than a departure from the show’s space, in which she has been associated since season one.
Who is Varun Alagh?
Varun Alagh is widely recognised as the co-founder and chief executive of Honasa Consumer Ltd, the company famously known for building brands like Mamaearth, Aqualogica, Ayuga and The Derma Co. Under Varun, Honasa grew from a small digital initiative to a well-known house of personal care labels. His inclusion in the Shark Tank panel brings his years of experience in brand building, category expansion and innovation in product marketing.

As for Ghazal Alagh, she joined the show from season one, but she isn’t part of the lineup this year. However, her support for Varun showcases a partnership built on shared vision and mutual growth, which adds a personal touch to this year’s panel.
