‘Shaktimaan Will Be Made Only With Ranveer Singh’: Basil Joseph Confirms

Ranveer Singh was reportedly roped in to play Shaktiman in the superhero film. Some reports claimed that he has been removed from the project.

The overzealous marketing team of various stars love to send out erroneous signals in their client’s favour. The most recent “news” being filtered to the famished fans of Allu Arjun is that he is likely to replace Ranveer Singh in the big-screen adaptation of the beloved Doordarshan serial Shaktimaan which aired from 1997 for eight years.

Mukesh Khanna played the eponymous role in the series. The movie version which is being written and directed by actor Basil Joseph was planned from the outset with Ranveer Singh.

Conflicting reports of alternative casting keep popping up intermittently, the most recent being the rumour of Allu Arjun being approached for Shaktimaan.

However, a source very close to the projects debunks the replacement theory. “No one else is doing Shaktimaan. It is Ranveer Singh and no one else. Whoever is spreading rumours of Ranveer being replaced has their own agenda.”
