TMKOC: The title character in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah was portrayed by Shailesh Lodha. He left the show after several seasons reportedly because of a falling out with the producer. It was stated earlier this year that Lodha was awaiting payment of his debts and appears he hasn’t yet gotten the same, though.
Shailesh Lodha’s statement
Shailesh has decided to pursue legal action in this situation, according to Hindustan Times reports. The actor allegedly filed a complaint and filed a lawsuit against producer Asit Kumarr Modi’s production company in March. As Asit was unable to pay his debts, Lodha contacted the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) and started a corporate insolvency resolution under section 9.
While talking about this case, Shailesh Lodha told HT, “The matter is subjudice and under court, so I’ll not comment anything on this.” The TMKOC producer, on the other hand, chose to comment on the matter.

As per the media reports, the project head of TMKOC, Sohail Ramani, added, “There isn’t much to say that hasn’t been said earlier. Shailesh Lodha has been like a family only. When he left we respected that. And on numerous occasions through email and on telephone we have requested him to come to the office to sign all required paperwork and take his remaining numeration. We have never denied or refused to give his payment. In every company when people leave, they have to sign full and final papers before complete payment is released. Where is the issue? Instead of going around and complaining, isn’t it better to simply follow the regular procedure.”
