Producer Dinesh Vijan, known for his hit film Cocktail (2012), is set to bring a sequel titled Cocktail 2. The movie will feature Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in lead roles, with a change in star cast. The original Cocktail, directed by Homi Adajania, was a runaway success and launched Deepika Padukone to stardom.
Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon Reunite for a Romantic Comedy
Thirteen years after the original Cocktail, Cocktail 2 is gearing up to continue the love triangle theme. Sources close to the development confirm that Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon have loved the script and are excited to reunite for the film. “After the success of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon are coming together once more. Producer Dinesh Vijan and director Homi Adajania are both big fans of romantic comedies, and they feel the script of Cocktail 2 is the perfect vehicle to bring the genre back in style,” a source revealed. The film’s plot will continue the theme of friendship at the heart of a light-hearted romantic comedy.

Creative Collaboration with Luv Ranjan
For Cocktail 2, Dinesh Vijan is joining creative forces with filmmaker Luv Ranjan. The script, penned by Ranjan, will infuse humour and emotional depth, resonating with the successful formula of the genre. Luv Ranjan’s involvement adds an extra layer of anticipation to the film, known for his mastery in this space. The collaboration marks a reunion of sorts as Vijan and Ranjan previously worked together on Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya.
Production Details And Casting
Coktail 2 will be directed by Homi Adajania and is set to go on floors in May 2025. While Shahid Kapoor will finish work on Vishal Bhardwaj’s Arjun Ustara / Evil, Kriti Sanon is completing Aanand L Rai’s Tere Ishk Mein before moving on to Cocktail 2. Casting is currently underway for an ensemble to complete the love triangle, which will feature some of the most likeable actors of the present generation.
