Shah Rukh Khan fans have received a news regarding his highly anticipated film King. Initially scheduled to begin production in March 2025, reports now suggest that the film’s shoot has been pushed back to June 2025.
Reason For The Dealy
According to reports from Bollywood Hungama, the delay comes as Anand and Shah Rukh aim to increase the standards set by the YRF Spy Universe films, especially Pathaan. A source revealed, “Siddharth Anand and Shah Rukh Khan are working to ensure everything is perfect before they begin shooting. They want the film to be top-notch and are making sure everything is in place on paper.”

The film will be shot across India and Europe and fans can expect a larger-than-life spectacle with Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix collaborating to bring King to the big screen. The film is now expected to hit theatres by the end of 2026, promising an action-packed and emotionally engaging experience.
In addition to Shah Rukh Khan, the film marks the debut of his daughter, Suhana Khan, in a lead role. Actor Abhay Verma, known for his role in Munjya, will also feature prominently.
Shah Rukh Khan Expresses Excitement For ‘King’
At a recent event at the Locarno Film Festival, Shah Rukh Khan shared his excitement about the film, saying, “I’ve been wanting to do a film like that for a long time, and it feels great to finally bring it to life. We felt Sujoy would be the perfect fit because we wanted the film to be emotionally resonant. We’re making a cool, massy, action-packed film.”
He also mentioned how strict director Anand is during production, adding, “He’s made Pathaan, and he doesn’t want me to reveal too much. But I can assure you, it will be entertaining, and you will love it.”
While much of the cast for King has been finalised, the makers are still in the process of finalising the leading actress. Also the official announcement regarding the film’s details are still awaited.
