Shaakuntalam box office collection Day 7: Samantha’s Shaakuntalam was released on 14 April in more than one Indian language, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. The film didn’t pull in any good numbers at the box office after that.
The audience’s reaction was mixed. As Shaakuntalam keeps making less than 1 crore per day, it’s found itself in a tough spot at the box office. The film has only managed to earn around 7 crores so far.
Shaakuntalam’s Box Office Collection
Samantha’s Shaakuntalam, directed by Gunasekar, is a mythical story. Kalidasa’s Sanskrit play Abhijnanashakuntalam inspired Shaankuntalam. It tells about the epic love story between Shakuntala and King Dushyant of Mahabharata. On Day 7, April 20 the film did not make a lot of money. Shaakuntalam is estimated to have earned a mere Rs 59 lakh, which is a huge drop from the previous days’ earnings, according to the early trade reports. It’s a small amount, and the film is likely to lose money.
Soon, they could also pull it out of the theatre. In India, the total collection as of today is a net amount of Rs 7.79 crore. In the meantime, Shaakuntalam saw a total occupancy rate of 13.61 % in Telugu on April 20.

About the film
The mythical play Shaakuntalam was written and directed by Gunasekhar. Shakuntala, a play by Kalidasa, is the source for the movie. Dev Mohan will play King Dushyanta, and Samantha will play Shakuntala.
Supporting actors include Mohan Babu, Gautami, Aditi Balan, and Ananya Nagalla. On February 17, The film will debut in theatres worldwide in a variety of languages.
