The Hindi version of the new Hindutva drama Hari Hara Veera Mallu – Part 1 Sword vs Spirit, is a complete washout in Hindi. While Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara continues to lead in the second week, the second place at the North Indian Box Office was taken by the new superhero thriller The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
“There is no third place this week,” laughs Roshan Singh a leading film exhibitor from Bihar. “Saiyaara remains the first choice and it will continue to be so in the coming months. We have heard that Yash Raj will add a song to the film after four weeks. That will keep it at the top all through August. As for Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu the opening was so bad it had to be pulled out from North Indian theatres on the second day.”
The latest on the disaster that is Hari Hara Veera Mallu – Part 1 Sword vs Spirit is that the plans for the sequel have been dropped altogether.
A source close to the project told this writer, “It is a project Pawan Kalyan would rather forget. Even his diehard fans are terribly disappointed. There is a wrong mindset in the film industry that villainizing the Mughuls and Islamic dynasties pleases the central government. The truth is the opposite: PM Narendra Modi and the BJP would like to distance itself as far away from such propaganda as possible.”
