Tamil star Vijay is currently under siege. The multiple stampede deaths at a rally in Kurur in Tamil Nadu have put the star politician into the high-security risk zone.
On September 29, there was a bomb threat at Vijay’s residence from an anonymous caller. Security has been further tightened.
Vijay’s home in Chennai has been heavily cordoned off. Only family members are allowed in. Vijay has been advised to stay confined to his home until the fury against the deaths in Kurur dies down.
In a related development, Vijay will visit the injured person in Kurur in the next few days, most probably on Monday.
A while back, I spoke to a colleague of Vijay, who said, “Vijay is scared, very scared for his family. The biggest mistake was that he fled from Kurur after the stampede instead of being with the injured and the family of the dead. Vijay says his mind had stopped working properly. It’s a tricky situation. The people, not only in Kurur but all over Tamil Nadu, are angry. They may target Vijay in spite of his security. So, stepping out of his home is not advisable at the moment. At the same time, not visiting the injured would be inhuman.”
