Following months of sifting through surveillance footage associated with a reported 2016 attack on singer Cassie Ventura, Sean “Diddy” Combs’ defense attorneys are seeking to exclude the footage from his forthcoming criminal trial. Court records dated April 2 and formally submitted on April 17 show that Combs’ lawyers are contesting the validity and admissibility of the video evidence.
Based on the filings, a forensic expert retained by Combs’ legal team examined all the available videos and concluded that none of them “accurately depict the incident in question.” Therefore, Combs’ attorneys claim that the videos do not qualify as high enough standards for presentation to jurors.

Expert Opinion
Central to the defense’s motion is the testimony of their forensic video expert who reportedly found critical flaws in the recordings. The expert analysis, as described in court filings, indicated that the footage either lacked clarity was incomplete or failed to capture the full context of the altercation between Combs and Ventura.
Diddy’s Legal Team Seeks Delay In Trial
Prior to this, lawyers for music industry mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs have officially asked for a two-month postponement of his upcoming federal sex-trafficking trial. In a letter filed with U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian on Wednesday, Combs’ lawyers contended that the previously scheduled May 5 timeline does not provide adequate time to mount an adequate defense due to delayed evidence disclosures from prosecutors. Combs has denied all the charges against him, insisting that the allegations are part of a larger effort to discredit him and tarnish his legacy.
Past Charges
Diddy was facing three serious federal charges which were racketeering, conspiracy and sex trafficking and transporting individuals for illegal purposes. According to the prosecutors, the new allegations basically details how combs and his associates allegedly lured women into exploitative situations under the situations. Prosecutors claim that some of these incidents took place over several years and across multiple state.
Detailed Pattern Of Exploitation
Prosecutors allege that Sean recruited, enticed, harbored, transported and maintained Victim-2. They further claimed that, he attempted, aided and willfully caused Victim-2 to engage in commercial sex acts. The indictment also accuses him of transporting Victim-2 and other sex workers across both state and international borders with intent that the individuals engage in prostitution.
As the case unfolds, all eyes will be on the courtroom to see whether Diddy will be granted a delay in the trails and how the high-profile proceedings impact the rapper.
