Amitabh Bachchan responded to trolls who criticised him for being the voice behind a government cybercrime awareness caller tune. Several users on social media questioned the veteran actor’s involvement, but Big B’s calm yet witty replies have gone viral.
It all started when Amitabh tweeted in Hindi, “T 5419 – जी हाँ हिज़ूर, मैं भी एक प्रशंसक हूँ तो!!! ???”
To this, a user commented, “Toh phone pe bolna band kro bhay.” Amitabh retorted, “सरकार को बोलो भई, उन्होंने जो कहा हमने कर दिया।” (Tell the government, I just did what they asked me to do.)

Another user called him “बुड्ढा सठिया गया” (The old man has lost it), to which Amitabh replied, “एक दिन, भगवान न करे वो जल्दी आय, आप भी सठिया जाएँगे । परंतु हमारे यहाँ एक कहावत है – जो साठा, वो पाठा” (One day, God forbid it comes early, you too will become senile. But we have a saying here – Jo Saatha, Wo Patha)

Another user wrote, “अरे आप तो बुरा मान गए महाराज। अब तो लोग आपके आवाज सुनना पसंद नहीं कर रहे हैं कॉल से परेशान है आवाज से।” (Hey, you got offended, Maharaj. Now people don’t like to listen to your voice, they are disturbed by your calls and voice). The veteran actor responded by simply writing, “Sarkaar se kaho.”

But perhaps the most savage clapback came when a user wrote, “Solid ganja fukte ho sir.” To this, Amitabh replied, “एक गंजा फूंके हुए ही ऐसे लिख सकता है जैसे आपने लिखा है” (Only someone high on weed could write what you just did.)

Meanwhile on the work front, Bachchan was recently seen in Nag Ashwin’s ‘Kalki: 2898 AD’ and is set to return with the new season of Kaun Banega Crorepati. He will also play King Dashrath in Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’, starring Ranbir Kapoor.
