New Delhi: After Aditya Singh Rajput, the TV industry has lost another gem. Vaibhavi Upadhyay, a popular TV actress, died after a car accident on May 23. During the incident, she and her fiance were traveling in Himachal Pradesh. Vaibhavi Upadhyay is well known for performing the role of Jasmine in the TV series Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai. Producer JD Majethia confirmed her death.
Vaibhavi Upadhyay no more!
Vaibhavi Upadhayay died on Tuesday, May 23, in the early hours of the morning. She was 32 years old at the time. Her family is now in Chandigarh, preparing to return her dead remains to Mumbai. The last rites will be performed here on May 24 around 11 a.m. During a trip to Himachal with her fiance, their car fell into a valley, causing both of them to be injured.
The news was confirmed by producer-actor JD Majethia, who collaborated with Vaibhavi Upadhyay in Sarabhai Vs. Sarabhai Take 2.
He wrote an emotional note, “Unbelievable that life can be so unpredictable. A very fine actress and a dear friend Vaibhabi upadhyay very popularly known as “jasmine” of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai passed away. She met with an accident in north and the family will bring her to mumbai tomorrow morning around 11 am for last rites. Rest in peace vaibhavi (sic).”
In addition to Sarabhai Vs. Sarabhai, Vaibhavi Upadhyay also contributed to the films Chhapaak, starring Deepika Padukone, Kya Qasoor Hai Amla Ka, the digital series Please Find Attached, and the 2023 feature Timir. She was well-known in the Gujarati theatre community.
