Filmmaker Sanoj Mishra, who has cast internet sensation Monalisa Bhosle, also known as the ‘viral girl’ from the Mahakumbh, in his upcoming film The Diary of Manipur, has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against five individuals, including a YouTube channel owner. Mishra accuses them of attempting to defame him and sabotage his film project.
Director Accuses YouTubers Of Spreading False Information
Sanoj lodged the FIR at the Amboli police station in suburban Mumbai, alleging that the five individuals were deliberately spreading false claims to harm his reputation and derail the progress of his film. According to the police, the accused made serious allegations regarding the film’s budget and other issues. One of the men even suggested that his previous films had never been released and that he would ‘ruin’ Monalisa’s career, as per the complaint.
In his complaint, Sanoj Mishra dismissed the allegations as baseless, stating that the individuals have come together with the intention of tarnishing his image. He strongly asserted that these people were trying to prevent the making of The Diary of Manipur, which stars Monalisa in the lead role.
“These people are deliberately spreading false and wrong news about me. They do not want Monalisa’s film to be made,” Sanoj said.
The FIR has been filed under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and the authorities have initiated further investigation into the matter.

Monalisa, a 16-year-old from Khargone district in Madhya Pradesh, gained widespread attention after a content creator filmed her selling garlands at the Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj. Her striking presence quickly made her an internet sensation. Earlier this year, she was signed by Sanoj Mishra for The Diary of Manipur, marking her debut in the film industry.
Sanoj’s film has generated significant buzz, as Monalisa transitions from her years of selling garlands at Kila Ghat to pursuing a career in acting.
