Sanjay Leela Bhansali has landed in a controversy after an FIR was lodged against him and two others in Bikaner, Rajasthan. According to PTI, the complaint was filed after a man named Prateek Raj Mathur alleged fraud, misbehaviour, and breach of trust in connection with the filmmaker’s new film ‘Love & War’. Mathur claimed that Bhansali gave him a contract as a line producer, but it was cancelled.
He accused Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the other two members of his team of removing him from the film without payment after assigning him responsibilities as the line producer. Circle Officer (Bikaner Sadar) Vishal Jangid told PTI that the FIR was registered under charges of fraud, criminal conspiracy and criminal intimidation against the filmmaker and film’s producers Arvind Gill and Utkarsh Bali at Bichhwal police station on Monday.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is yet to react to the FIR against him and the controversy around ‘Love & War’.

‘Love & War’ is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first directorial after his OTT debut with the web series ‘Heeramandi’. The show stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Segal, and Taha Shah Badussha in the lead roles. It is streaming on Netflix and has been renewed for its second season. However, there has been no update about the season two so far.
Talking about ‘Love & War’, the movie stars Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles. It was scheduled to release in theatres in 2025 but got postponed. As per reports, the movie will now release in March 2026.
