Samay wrote on X, “Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all Indias Got Latent videos from my channel. Here’s How Netizens Reacted:

About The Controversy:

The show is hosted by comedian Samay Raina and YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia and Ashish Chanchlani and social media influencer Apoorva Makhija were the guests on it. The backlash was caused due to Ranveer’s question for one contestant as he said, “Watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life. Or would you join in once and stop it forever?” Later, Apoorva also asked, “have you ever seen v*?”

Ranveer later apologised for his inappropriate remarks and removed all the posts with Samay Raina. He said, “My comment wasn’t just inappropriate, it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I’m just here to say sorry. Many of you asked if this is how I wish to use my platform and obviously this is not how I wish to use it. I’m not going to give any context or justification or reasoning behind whatever happened.”

The complaint has also been filed with the Mumbai Commissioner and Maharashtra Women’s Commission for allegedly using abusive language on the show and strict action has been demanded against Ranveer, Apoorva and Samay and the organisers of India’s Got Latent.

Mumbai’s Cyber Cell registered a case as well. According to reports, the case has been registered against 30 to 40 people and the process to send them notice has also begun. These people will also be called for questioning. All Indian Cine Workers’ Associations (AICWA) wrote a letter to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, demanding a ban on ‘India’s Got Latent’ and legal action against its creators.
