Samay Raina, who is currently caught up in controversy due to his show ‘India’s Got Latent’, has finally broken his silence before the Maharashtra Cyber Police in Navi Mumbai after he was summoned. The stand-up comedian reportedly expressed his regret for what he said and admitted his mistake.
According to reports, he said in his statement, “I feel deep regret for what I said. It happened in the flow of the show, and I had no intention of saying it. I realise that what I said was wrong.”
Earlier, Samay’s show ‘Unfiltered’ got cancelled just a few days before its scheduled date. BookMyShow, the platform from which people made bookings, reportedly sent a message to attendees to inform them about the cancellation and refund process. The message read, “Your Samay Raina Unfiltered – Talkatora Stadium Show scheduled on Fri Mar 21 2025 (or Sun Mar 23 2025) 7:00 PM at Talkatora Stadium Delhi has been cancelled. Sorry for the inconvenience caused. We have processed the refund for the amount…The refund should reflect in 7 to 10 working days.”
Samay Raina’s Unfiltered was supposed to take place at Delhi’s Talkatora Stadium on March 21 and March 23.
About The Controversy:
YouTubers Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani and social media influencer Apoorva Makhija appeared on Samay’s India’s Got Latent as guests. The backlash was caused due to Ranveer’s question for one contestant as he said, “Watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life. Or would you join in once and stop it forever?”
Later, Samay deleted all the videos of India’s Got Latent from his YouTube channel. Ranveer Allahbadia also apolosied for his comment and he along with Apoorva earlier appeared before Maharashtra Women’s Commission.
