Sam Bahadur starring Vicky Kaushal received lots of appreciation from the audience and critics alike. Despite clashing with ‘animal’ at the box office, the film fared well. Ever since, the audience were wondering about the OTT release of the film. There were many rumors that the film will be released on the OTT platform within three to four weeks of its release, but that is not the case.
Director Meghna Gulzar revealed that the film will make its digital debut after 8 weeks of its release. It will start streaming on ZEE 5 from Republic Day 2024.
Vicky Kaushal portrayed the role of Sam Manekshaw, India’s firstl field marshal, earning widespread acclaim for his impeccable performance that resonated with millions. His dedication and hard work in bringing the character to life were widely praised, making the movie a remarkable portrayal of India’s first field marshal.
Vicky also received a praise from Sam Manekshaw’s daughter Maja Daruwala. Speaking at The Indian Express Adda, she said “They have made the film to make the country proud of whatever it was. But, the time that I tear up, every time, I’ve seen the film twice now and I teared up both times, is the last two seconds of the film when you turn to the audience and you’re smiling. That just kills me every time.”

The film hit the theatres on December 1. It also stars Sanya Malhotra, who essays the character of his girlfriend, while Fatima Sana Sheikh portrays the role of the country’s former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi among others in pivotal roles.
On the work front, Vicky will next feature in ‘Dunki’ alongside Shah Rukh Khan. The film, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, will hit the theatres on December 21.
