Celebrities Targeted By Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi: The assassination of former Maharashtra minister, Baba Siddique, has shocked the film industry. He shared a good bond with several celebrities including Salman Khan, who was seen fighting back his tears at his funeral. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who has threatened Salman Khan several times, has reportedly claimed responsibility for Baba Siddique’s murder. This is not the first time the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has targeted a celebrity. Take a look at the list of celebrities in the film industry, who have been targeted or attacked by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. 

AP Dhillon 

AP Dhillon also became the target of Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang and shots were fired outside his residence in Canada’s Vancouver. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang took responsibility for this incident, which happened a few weeks after AP Dhillon released his song ‘Old Money’ with Salman Khan.  The gang threatened the ‘Brown Munde’ singer to “stay within his limits”, or he will meet a “dog’s death”.

Later, AP Dhillon ensured his fans and well-wishers that he is safe. He wrote on Instagram, “I’m safe. My people are safe. Thank you to everyone who reached out. Your support means everything. Peace and love to all.” 

Gippy Grewal 

In November 2023, gunshots were fired outside Punjabi singer Gippy Grewal’s house in Canada. Goldy Brar, who is associated with Lawrence Bishnoi, took responsibility for the incident and threatened the singer via social media. 

Later, while speaking to News18, Gippy Grewal revealed he has no connection with Salman Khan and has only met him twice. He shared, “The producer who backed Maujaan Hi Maujaan invited Salman to the trailer launch. I met him there. Before that, I met him on the sets of Bigg Boss. I have no friendship with Salman Khan and the anger of it is being taken out on me. For me, it is still shocking and I am unable to process what has happened to me.” 

He added, “I have no enmity with anyone so I couldn’t even think who could have been behind the attack.” 

Karan Johar

According to PTI, filmmaker Karan Johar was on the list of people, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang planned to target for extortion. Siddhesh Kamble, an alleged member of the gang, told the police officials that the gang had allegedly planned to extort ₹5 crore from Karan Johar by threatening him. 

As per PTI, a senior officer also said that these claims have not yet been verified, and there was a possibility that there was an element of bragging in Siddhesh’s statements.

Rakhi Sawant 

Actress and internet personality Rakhi Sawant claimed that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang sent her a threatening email after she supported Salman Khan. 

She told ETimes, “They’re saying if you talk about Salman Khan, we’ll kill you. But I’ll speak about Salman Khan because he helped my mother when she was unwell. He spent Rs 50 lakh to try to save my mother from cancer. Why shouldn’t I speak? They shot Sidhu Moosewala. People walk in candle marches and cry after someone’s death. Shouldn’t we take a stand when a person is alive?”

Honey Singh 

Rapper Honey Singh, in June 2023, filed a complaint with Delhi Police and alleged that he received threatening calls from a person claiming to be Goldy Brar. According to Hindustan Times, he shared, “My staff and I received threat calls with the name of Goldy Brar. I have requested the Delhi police commissioner to provide security to me and investigate the case. I have received a threat for the first time in my life and I am scared. We received some voice notes also. We received these threats from international phone numbers.”

Salman Khan 

Salman Khan became the target of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi after the actor’s alleged involvement in the black buck shooting case in 1998. Later in 2018, Lawrence Bishnoi threatened the Bollywood star during his court appearance.  He said, “We will kill Salman Khan in Jodhpur. Everyone will know once we take action. I have not done anything as of now, they are accusing me of crimes for no reason.”

On April 14, 2024, a firing took place outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Bandra. After the incident, security outside his house was increased.

Sidhu Moosewala 

Popular singer Sidhu Moosewala was murdered on May 29, 2022, in Punjab’s Mansa district. The shocking incident took place when he, along with his friend and cousin, was traveling in a jeep to Jawahar Ke village in Mansa. Six shooters were involved in the assassination and Goldy Brar, who is a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the murder.
