Reports are circulating within Tollywood that the release of Prabhas’ much-anticipated movie, “Salaar,” may be postponed. Initially scheduled for a September release, the film’s trailer, which was expected to launch in August, has yet to be unveiled.
However, “Salaar” was gaining an impressive response from the US box office, having already sold approximately 14.5 thousand tickets, and with nearly a month left before its release.
The US box office for “Salaar” initially saw substantial interest in advance bookings. However, it has now been reported that all tickets worth $400,000 will be refunded due to the cancellation of all current bookings. Fans can expect a new release date announcement in the near future.

The primary reason behind the potential delay is the unfinished graphics work, which is now anticipated to be completed by September 28. Director Prashanth Neel is reportedly discontented with this setback.
“Salaar” boasts a substantial budget of ₹200 crore and features Prabhas in the role of a gangster. Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the antagonist, while Jagapathi Babu, Shruti Haasan, and Teenaa Anand also hold pivotal roles.
Notably, there are speculations about a sequel, with Jagapathi Babu’s character taking the spotlight in the second part. The film is set to release in regional languages as well as Hindi, marking it as a pan-Indian release.
The teaser for “Salaar” garnered significant attention, amassing over 100 million views and earning praise from fans and viewers. Hombale Films, the production company, expressed their gratitude on social media for the immense support received.
Prabhas, who recently starred in “Adipurush,” a retelling of the mythological epic Ramayana, faced controversies over its VFX and dialogues, and the film did not perform as expected at the box office. Currently, Prabhas is simultaneously working on another film titled “Kalki 2898,” a science-fiction movie with a superhero storyline, directed by Nag Ashwin. The film features Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Amitabh Bachchan alongside Prabhas.
